Learning math and Spanish at home
Costa Rica, like many other countries, has halted classes at every educational center as a measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19. No doubt it is an imperative measure, however, it presents a real challenge for the children’s learning process.
At ILORI Educational Program we have come up with some creative ideas to help kids to continue improving their Math and Spanish skills while at home. Here there are some of the ones we have already implemented:
For those who don’t have access to the Internet, we have prepared and distributed printed materials so that they can keep up practicing. Our teachers, Freddy (Math) and Gabriel (Spanish) keep in touch with them and their mothers to monitoring their progress and help them out if they have doubts or questions
For those who have access to the Internet, they have prepared several digital materials so that they continue their educational process in both subjects. They have distributed them tutorials, practices, educational games and other educational materials. Children that don’t have a computer can access these materials in their parents’ cell phones via WhatsApp.
Kids and parents are excited about the new ways of learning and practicing and have shown their gratitude.
Our teachers are working very hard every day to bring knowledge, fun and joy to ILORI kids in this difficult situation.
